Learning Commons Redesign
In 2021, I created a design to transform my media center to a modern learning commons. Through L4GA grant funding, the vision became a reality, instantly becoming a hub for students and staff.
MediaFest
In addition to co-creating and co-chairing the NCSS Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Program (now MediaFest), I manage my school team, which has won or placed in the middle school division multiple times.
Monthly Programming Report
Each month, I create an infographic of programming highlights. I share the infographic on social media to ensure our story is heard.
L4GA Facilitator
For the first two years of the L4GA grant, I co-facilitated ICMS' literacy program. Together with other stakeholders, I identified priority needs, purchased resources, and modeled implementation strategies. Highlights include expanding the Sora collection to include comics and magazines, starting classroom libraries for Social Studies classrooms, and providing literacy resources during parent and community events.
Literacy Acadex
From 2019-2022, I taught a class of students who did not need remedial reading instruction. I wrote a curriculum of enriching activities that encouraged creativity and embedded technology use.
